I don't understand the implication of being in a wheelchair with relation to mental handicap.

But for the sake of inclusive humor...LOL.

'Handicaped' as you put it, and also misspelled, is offensive to those who have disabilities.
'Retarded' or any derivation of the word is offensive to those who have developmental disabilities.
"******" in any form is a hostile epithet that should NOT be used.

Post of this kind are highly offensive to those of us who have children with developmental disabilities.
It becomes increasingly difficult to over look those who perpetuate this kind of crap.

I'm tired of seeing the use of "guitard" to describe a guitar player. Very immature and disrespectful. I don't have anyone in my family nor do I know anyone that is mentally handicapped but I'm sure there are members of this site who do and probably find it offensive. Why would anyone waste there time creating that?
and I agree, where's the correlation between being mentally handicapped and physically handicapped.

I really don't get offended by much at all, I have a pretty good sense of humor, I don't think I have an ounce of political correctness in me and I laugh at pretty much everything - but I just don't get this guitard stuff??? I'm not offended by it. It's just stupid to me. Not even stupid enough to be funny. Just stupid.

...Really?

You know, speaking as a handicapped person myself (disabled left foot that requires almost constant use of a cane), wait, excuse me, as a cripple, there's nothing wrong with a little humor here and there. There's always jokes thrown around here and there about racial stereotypes, sexual stereotypes, cultural stereotypes, what makes us crippled folk so special?

If you uptight folks honestly think the OP was trying to insult you or anyone else specifically, well... Lighten up.

Meh. I didn't find it funny, but I wasn't offended by it either.

I really don't understand the whole "guitard" thing. I'm guessing those bass players that have only met and played with "guitards" have a certain type of personality that attracts only "guitards".

Personally, every guitar player I've ever played with has NOT been a guitard, so I just don't get it.
