I don't know why it has to be the bass player in this guy's 'Modest Proposal'. Here's the link.

If I lived closer I'd give it a shot. It's not like I have a lot on my plate for the next few years. A change of scenery might do me good.

Its okay by me provided we don't do covers.

Actually, that smacks loudly of the typical "musicians wanted" ads in our local CraigsList.

I'm too old, I guess. I personally wince to think anyone's childhood was shaped by Green Day, let alone that Husker Du is under-appreciated or that Molly Hatchet is ironic.

Pre-1992 Green Day not only shaped my childhood (and young adulthood), but a whole generation of East Bay kids' as well.

They were pretty hot before they sold out...

But now I guess I'M the old one...

Amazing. Simply amazing. Perhaps this guy should be a writer instead of a musician...

Yeah, dude needs to write a book.
Oh and off topic, how did green day sell out? All the seven inches, lp's, cd's they did up until what ever the record after dookie was (didn't buy it) sounded exactly the same. The only difference was better production. When I put the needle down on Kerplunk me and my buddy laughed our azzez off cuz we couldn't tell the difference between that and 1000 Smoothed out slappy hours (cd). Selling out is changing your music for money. They're stuff stayed exactly the same for over ten years till they got into their thirties and of course the music is gonna change. They're old like us.

Course, that's not always the case. I started out playin punk, then wuss punk like soul asylum/doughboys, then sludge rock, then into hip hop, now i'm goin back into rock and some hip hop still. But I was thinkin of startin a tribute band where everyone dresses in drag and would call it Drag Queens of the Stone Age.

I like the "BAM" part. Joke'll be on him though cuz I'll wear my iron face over to his house and he'll bust his knuckles, black out from the pain, and then HE will spend 7 long years at my secret camp in the mountains until he accidentally strangles on a G string (hmmm, that sounds bad, better make it a D string).

Then again I'll probably not contact that psycho at all.
