Wristbands, who wears 'em while playing?

I do, only on my right wrist though. It helps prevent rug burns, soaks up sweat, and makes me look like some kind of wicked cool athlete . So, who else uses them?

yea I usually use a pick for gallops and stuff when I play, my wrist rubs against the body of the bass and creats a burn.

I always wear one on my left wrist being left handed. Kinda gives a bit of cushion. Not that I need it or anything, just looks sweet.

Depends on my mood or if I remember. I'm bald, so it's nice to have something to soak up the sweat with.

I usually wear one on my right wrist. I've gotten bruises before after playing a show. I tend to play harder during a gig, so my wrist slaps against the bass body a lot.

You have a rug attached to your bass?

With the kind of music we make, I wear fingerless skeli gloves that do the trick for me. When I play without them though a wristband is nice. I use a pick too and with the way I play, it really does a number on a certain part of my wrist.

I do! It's habit really, and one of my basses has a nice sticker that catches my skin once in a while. It also makes me cooler.
Never wear them all the time though!

I always wear one on my right wrist. It helps a bit with cushioning but the biggest reason is sweat. I hate it when my arm gets sweaty and then slimes the bass. Used to wear one on my left (fretting) wrist but I don't like anything tight or constricting in any way there...no watches or sweat bands.

sorta, i have a leather band i made that has my pick attached to it, helps when switching styles a lot, from pick to finger for a verse then back to pick for the chorus.

Started wearing a leftie recently after a particularly humid rehearsal.

I do when I play live and I'm wearing a short sleeve. Damn stage lights are hot.

Why?

Amen to that - ideal "fringe substitue".

In winter it can get rather cold, so I sometimes wear one around my right wrist. Also, I have these gloves just in case, with fingers cut off, so I can play as if normal and keep my hands warm

I do sometimes. I have a set of Cheap Trick-style checkerboard ones. Hehe. I think they look snappy.
