Just wanted to tell a good story about a jam session. My old high school band got back together after 39 years. Last played together April 1972.

College and life caused us to go separate ways musically but we've stayed good friends all these years but never thought of hooking up. Couple of the guys play regularly with other bands while the rest of us mainly have played to an audience of kids and dogs at home.

Anyway - we had forgotten how much fun it was to play together. We talked in advance and developed a set list of about 25 songs that we have all played in the past.

So the day of the Jam we all congregated in one guy's basement (who plays regularly and has the PA and recording devices) and start rocking.

It was like we had not ever been apart! Couple of fumbles that caused some laughter (like the organ and guitar missing the drum solo on Soul Sacrifice) and the vocals sorely need some work but it was great. Wives all came and the kids could not believe that the old men can still rock..

This is going to become a monthly jam session...

Just wanted to tell a nice jam story....Thanks for listening!

your story and other similar make me very optimistic that ill find a group to just jam with.

That is a great story. I would love to be in a position to jam with those from my high school days but I moved much to far from home for that to work.

Sounds like a great gig to have.

Oh yeh-yuh!!! Good deal. Inspirational, too.

I've been thinking of catching up with my best bud from the high school daze. His brother was a super drummer and he'd knock it out while the two of us would noodle with our guitars - yep, this was before I dropped two strings and an octave into this sonic playground of ours. He might not be playing at all anymore, but he had that phenomenal musical ear and fantastic natural ability. Should be hilarious if we can fart around this summer.
