I found this ad on the local Craigslist: http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/muc/1825963519.html Need a 4 piece rock band for event on August 30th in Montague. Can play originals or covers, doesn't matter as long as there is lots of guitar and rock beats. Must play blindfolded and not interact with the patrons at all. Show up 2 hours early and set up, put on blindfolds before guests arrive. Can take them off when everyone has left, pay will be upon completion of the event.
We responded to it this morning, so far no reply, but I gotta say, I'm intrigued and more than a little frightened.
What could the event be? The possibilities are staggering!

I dunno if I'd feel completely comfortable blindfolded during a gig. So many unexpected things tend to happen when we're gigging. I don't even like darker stages. |

Our lead singer likes to run around a lot, so that could be entertaining if he's blind folded as well.
I'm kinda thinking it's gotta be a room full of naked ugly people, but I just don't know. The ad was up for a day or 2 before I found it so maybe the gig is already taken. I am intrigued however.

| | | Just buy some of that fabric they use for Grim Reaper costumes; it'll look like you're blindfolded but you'll still be able to see.
That is, if you actually want to see what's going on in that place...

I would play that gig in a second! Fun story!

I would have to ask for them to put up a privacy screen or something to separate the band from the audience. Be heard, but not seen.

I practice in the dark -- does this count?
