You Guys will think I'm a Jerk

I consider myself a competent well schooled veteran bass player.Been playing consistantly since the 60's.

But I have some quirks, last night I did a one shot gig in a packed small club, 200 people.

I entered the stage last and separate from the band with a 26year old chic that works down the street (coctail waitress) we have been friends for a few years.

I walk on stage with her and I had on a Les Paul Bass. When we get in front of my GK rig, I take off the LP had it to her and she helps me put on my Tbird which is what I used for the couple of songs.

What was the purpose? Just being a jerk and one or two
people thought I was famous. I was one of the two.

When you get to be my age you start doing all sorts of dumb stuff

You Guys Will Think I'm a Jerk

Think you're a jerk??? Are you married?....

No divorced twice , I have been single for the past 10 years.
I am not what you would call "marriage material"

I just like gigging, hanging out and stuff.

Being a Jerk

You know now that I think about it, I have always considered myself a commercial artist.

And, you know it is Rock n Roll, so why not have fun with it.

Thing is, with this little charade, it does not work unless your effin "smokin" on the bass.

C'mon, I'm 56 up there with a black and silver scarf down to my waste, deisels and a pair of cons. Such is the life of the local aging Pop Artist

It's not a big deal, it's just honest true humor about stuff that happen to us aging local Pop Artists.

Thats fair, it's true honest humor about stuff that I do and think is cool, but probably ridiculous to others.

Here's how stupid I am...

I had to read through this whole thread to realize what was going on. I saw "chic," thought it was pronounced "sheek" and wondered if a word was missing...

Not a jerk. Smooth (but coulda been smoother since no pic), but not a jerky move. You didn't throw the bass at her did you?

That's not being a jerk. That's showmanship!

I'd give my left nut to have a hot 26 year old walk on stage with me and schlep gear.
