Went out to a show last night (a sweet band called Pelican for the record) and when the bass player pulled out his Stingray - black w/ black guard, maple fretboard - the first thing I thought was "Hey, that looks like Figjam's avatar!" I shook my head and laughed a bit to myself. Maybe I hang out here a bit too much?

when you complain about spending too much money on gas it has nothing to do with the mileage of your car or oil prices.

The gas card in your wallet is actually a picture of that Sadowski you've always wanted.

When you not only know who Jaco is, you know that he only needed four strings!

When, thanks to the resources here, you know more about the gear at the music store than the people working there.

When hearing about certain models os bass, you mention that someone on TB either has one, said something good or said something bad them.

You're the only one in your city that has ever heard of Moody Straps.
You can name custom basses by sight.
"When you start naming off wood."-Keith
When you can name a bass by someones description without seeing the bass.

I'm guilty of all of the above. There are plenty more, but that's all I could think of right now.

that's my favorite one. when you're like "wow, that's a really nice spalted maple top on that bassist's axe".

band looks at you like you're speaking klingon.

Or when you go to a furniture store and ask a question like "Is that American or Honduran Mahogany?" and they just look at you like you're crazy for even knowing it's Mahogany.

Or you see a table in a store and mention to your friends "That a nice piece of hard rock maple, oh and those Dark Stained chairs do not fit to that one, they should have used Rosewood, even if it was just a Rosewood veneer on the outside." I've done both of those.

You already hate fieldy and you've never actually listened to Korn.

When it always surprises you that Tim Lyons is in fact NOT physically resemblant in any way, shape or form of that of his EHX Avatar

When playing a four string makes you feel like you've only been using a box of crayons with a limited number of colors.

When you've seen the fretted/fretless bass video so much that you dream it from time to time.
