When the Human Resources Auditor at work calls your office and thanks you for "putting him onto Talkbass cause I'm a bass player too", you've been spending too long on the forum

are you serious? that's hilarious, but also kinda scary. just think, if that dude wasn't a bass player, you could have gotten into some trouble.

When you say something sarcastic in real life and look for the button to make the smiley appear.

Naah, a rap on the knuckles or a warning letter at worst. At work we can spend a reasonable time on personal internet stuff like banking, catching up on news, forums etc. Provided what you are doing doesn't contravene law or what a reasonable person would find acceptable

Pelican owns!!! I really want to go to their show, but alas i am both short of funds and have something else planned.

i'm really guilty of the wood thing. I noticed some flaming on my friends stair railings and commented on it and he asked if i was setting his stair railing on fire...

...the phrases "bad GAS" and "warm P" do NOT immediately bring to mind bodily functions.

As for knowing more than the music shop dorks...happens all the time.

...you call BassNW and order yet another rig and say how you go through so much gear that you'd think that eventually you'd hit the right combination - and they say "oh, you're THAT SteveC" to you...

you know the list and retail price of every bass related piece of equipment in guitar center aswell as many non bass related items.

youo can guess at both list and retail price and be dead on.

guilty of both for GC and many other music stores.

When your New Techniques in Art(photoshop)teacher and your Intro to Word teacher move you to right in front of their computers for going on during school...

When your guitar player asks you why you can't be fine with the gear you have now and you respond "GAS" and he goes "That bean soup is getting to me too, but I just fart or burp, not buy new gear"

You've actually called your guitar player a "guitard"

You've lost potential girlfriends over bringing up GAS without explaining it first...

You're the best bass player in your high school and know more about skilled bass players and gear than anyone else, and you're a freshman...

You've managed to get talkbass.com blocked from the school's internet, even though you've caught a teacher on it...

You're asked to read a story about bass fishing in English, and you say "base" without realizing it.

You've said "bubunga wood is rather interesting" and get responses of "is that when there's burgers on the lunch table?"

That's all I've got for now, and for the sake of you all, I'll stop.

If you can read this conversation without thinking of women

I broke the g-string on Crystal (my friend's Fender P)
Oh man, how?
I slapped her a bit too hard
I bet it was nice though,
Oh yeah, I mean, you've seen her big @$$.
Yeah, she is fine.
So I need to get her a new G-String
DR, they're nice and smooth, but still tight and bright n' crisp.
