That was the first time we played together, still doing this 15+ years on

Sometimes the guitarist is so caught up by what the bass and drums are doing he forgets to play. We keep it going and he finally decides to join us in the second verse. He does say he's sorry after the song, but I take it to mean that I'm doing a decent job with my part.

Awesome dude. I was totally intimidated to be playing in a band with him... he got me past that in a hurry! Is it a coincidence that the sh*tty players want to take over the room? I think not .

Mine likes to take a background supporting role in the band, which is a good thing (and we lock in together very well), but it gets annoying when you actually want him to be heard.
Also, I think he's probably going to get me some expensive pedal later for my birthday so I'm looking forward to today's rehearsal.

| | | | I played in metal/hardcore bands with one guitar player for years. He was a tone junky - always buying and selling amps, trying different cabinets, etc. He was never too concerned about my tone or what I was doing - he wasn't a d**k or anything, but he never really noticed anything that I did other than hold down the roots. The last time we recorded (we did a 4-song demo), as we sat in the control room listening to the tracks while the engineer mixed, he asked the engineer on 3 out of the 4 songs to turn me up because he liked what I was doing and wanted it to stand out in the songs. In fact, he insisted that he turn me up. That was pretty cool.
