I hate going in there and watching emo's play in there just to show off to their girlfriends and friends. 15 of them walk in there, looking like they're straight out of Hot Topic, pick up a piece of crap guitar that "looks awesome", and "shred" as loud as they possibly can, and as fast as they possibly can. It makes me more mad than even things like "Soulja Boy"

How do you feel when you need to search the whole store to find an instrument cable in order to try out an amp? Or find a strap? One would think those items would be easy to find so a musician can actually test drive the bass.
Seriously, I want straps around to actually feel how heavy a bass is and where I want to wear the height.
i actually went in one time and they didnt have any cables in the "rumble room" so i went looking but all the guitar cables were zip tied to the selves. so i went to ask an employee and they said if there wasnt one in there then they didnt have any

Egh yah its lame, but i check out stuff for curiousity sake a lot of the time, not to "show off"

Sure 99% of the time i don't buy it, but for that 1% where here is something THAT good its a sale.

I maybe do one slay riff, then play scales/melodic riffs to get a tone feel.

Yeah. I love that one. Been there, done that.

My personal favorite is when you pick up a bass that has never been touched other than taking it out of the box and hanging it on the wall. You know... the basses where the strings are actually resting on the frets or the strings are a half mile away from the frets.

About two years ago I picked up an American made Fender Jazz bass in a music store that had an actual gap between the body and neck. There was an angle between the two pieces of wood and was obviously unplayable. I showed it to the store employee who proceeded to tell me there was nothing wrong with it. I gave him a look that could kill, handed it to him and said, "Take this piece of sh17 away from me", showed him the $1,200 cash I had to spend that day and walked out.

Wow Bassmanbob you really need to step of that high horse of yours. Theres no need to talk to an employee like that. You must of felt like such a big man showing him all your money and telling him he couldn't have it. I've worked in music shops before, and it's people like you that make my job feel like a job.
