You think you have seen odd gigs? Heres one.

Great gig/recital for the place where I play lessons thing morning. About 70 people there, with 8 kids from the business playing different tunes and solos throughout the two hour set, including the "All Star" which I played bass for.

About halfway through the show a cop walks in. I thought it was cool, protection for the oddballs in the downtown of my city. Out of no where he grabs this guy on a laptop and throws him into his police car. The gig went on, and we finished strong.

After the show the owner of the coffee shop came up on stage. This is close to his exact quote, giving you the brief idea:
"Sorry about that disturbance people, we had some business to take care of with a customer. He wont be back, ever." HE turns the mic off and turns to my teacher. What I heard I couldnt believe.

This guy was watching pr0n in a public coffee shop, with my parents and family, along with other families and a few young children. They called the police for public indecency!

I cant believe what the world is coming to! I have read the "Worst gig ever" threads, and even this doesnt count for that.

So what you're saying is:

1) Nobody was watching the band.
2) That laptop must have had one hell of a big screen.
3) Michael Jackson showed up to your gig.

I think the responses here tell a couple things:

1. Alot of you don't have kids, otherwise this sort of thing would (or should) offend you considerably.
2. Porn has become way too mainstream and acceptable, when someone can feel free to watch it with no regard for those around him.

I'll agree that the gig as a whole probably wouldn't make the list of worst gigs ever, except for the perv. It was probably HIS worst gig ever!

While I have never had a gig where someone got arrested for looking at porn, I have been through some real winners. Dudes fist fighting, couples fist fighting, chicks fighting, parties interrupted because of crying, screaming drunks, rival factions of the klan fist fighting (we weren't playing for the klan, they just happened to show up.) guns pulled, knives pulled, cops shutting down because of noise, fire marshalls shutting gigs down because the place was waaaay overcrowded (happened more than once) and the list goes on. You got off pretty light!!

I fear "doth protest too much, methinks". I am part of the "Father knows best" "Ozzie and Harriet" black and white generation. What you find on network TV now would have been classified as porn back then; and if you throw in cable programming, well, that would be the 'hard core'. What you described as the worse ever is just an inevitable occurrance of this "sex sells" evolution that everyone accepts. If we did not accept it it would not be happening. This is supply and demand. In my opinion your outrage is misdirected. I figure the guy they arrested is as much a victim as any other addict.

Well son, if that is the worse thing you ever have happen ( to someone else, not really involved with the band) at one of your gigs, you will be a most fortunate man indeed.

Okay, I have nothing against pornography, but this is just ignorant.

You can't watch pornography in a public coffee shop. That guy deserved to get arrested. I hate the police with a passion, but I would call them if I saw some **** like that.

I'm sure there's a really great response to this, I just can't think of it right now.

Okay guys. Settle down. I agree, his opinion was stated out there, but thats allowed. If you have a problem with his post, report it. Its simple, hit the small Triangle containing an ! and tell the mods why youre reporting.

Im spreading the word that flaming and taking things into your own hands can get you a "warning", something I recently received.

Would he be arrested if he was sitting there reading Playboy? If not, what is the difference?

EDIT: You really totally missed my point didn't you. Bill Clinton "did not have sex with that woman!!!"
