About halfway through the show a cop walks in. I thought it was cool, protection for the oddballs in the downtown of my city. Out of no where he grabs this guy on a laptop and throws him into his police car. The gig went on, and we finished strong.
After the show the owner of the coffee shop came up on stage. This is close to his exact quote, giving you the brief idea:
"Sorry about that disturbance people, we had some business to take care of with a customer. He wont be back, ever." HE turns the mic off and turns to my teacher. What I heard I couldnt believe.
This guy was watching pr0n in a public coffee shop, with my parents and family, along with other families and a few young children. They called the police for public indecency!
I cant believe what the world is coming to! I have read the "Worst gig ever" threads, and even this doesnt count for that.
[/rant] | I actually worked for a coffee shop in Brea, California where we had a customer who did that. He would use our free wi-fi to look at pron and ALWAYS made some kind of harassing statement to our female baristas. When we asked him to stop coming to our store, he made a HUGE deal about it. He would then drive by the shop and wave at us through the windows. Someone also heard him call into a radio attorney and ask if he had a case against the coffee shop. Of course the attorney says no, but this was his response... "But they have FREE WI-FI!"

I wonder if something similar had happened if he was watching a movie depicting realistic violence? Of course there are different 'types' of the material that this guy was accused of watching, however there is - IMHO - a double-standard that has long been institutionalised, making it 'ok' to watching hundreds / thousands of simulated murders or assaults, but not 'ok' to watch a natural human act.
I'm not suggesting the restrictions on adult sexual material be lifted, but rather there should be more restrictions on violence within film and TV.

This guys was watching someone take an arm and get blown up.. In a different context.
Im not sure if he was touching himself or not, but I dont care to know. IT was a very awkward thing, either way.
