28th February 2003. My first band, Ophidian, did our first gig at a friend's show. We were due to play a week later, but another band pulled out and we got the gig as subs. We were the heaviest band there and we went on first.

Our set was 5 songs, 17 minutes long. We'd already recorded a demo, so these songs had never been played live, but we did OK. Our singer was really brutal screaming, but unintelligible, and couldn't sing a note. The levels weren't great, but we had a full P.A. behind us. The last song the P.A. cut out so we went off amps, it was sort of an anticlimax to our best song. Broke up 7 months later because the drummer(who was pretty good, but an idiot) got bored and took the singer with him.

So I joined an even better band that should be gig worth in a few weeks! \m/\m/

My first gig was 8 or 9 years ago. the rainbow butt monkeys (now finger 11) were playing at my high school, and the student who was organizing it got to choose a band to open. my band ended up being one of three openers. we played 3 originals (my entire repertoire as i had just started playing bass a month before). there was one song that i had trouble with. looking back now, it was really slow, but my fingers couldn't keep up. we had to play it last because of my weak fingers.

good times......

The therapy has helped me forget. All I'll admit to is I was 11, it was a punk band, and I got into a fight with a racist skinhead.

my first gig was a variety show, it was just back in December 27th 2003, there about 150 ppl there, & we did 3 songs, our band just makes instrumentals, so our first song was my "2nd Slap bass song" as our band calls it, then with we did a song with our friend, that he wrote words to, its like r&b kinda, then the finnaly was with our 3 other friends that play saxiphone, trombone,& trumpet. we played "pick up the pieces" by the average white band. & the crowd LOved all of them, but since the 1st 2 were originals, they really didnt know them, but they still loved everything, they were cheering all loud. but for pick up the pieces, EVERYONE was going crazy, dancing all over the place, kuz the crowd was made up mostly 25-50 year olds. & anyone that knows that song knows after the 1st chorus, the 1st pause...when we hit that C chord & the horns sustained out everyone was goin insane & clapping all loud. it was great!!
