explorer joke

apologies if you've heard this old chessnut before. If you haven't, this is one of the all time great bass jokes.

An Indiana Jones style explorer following the Orinoco river had hired a tribesman guide to take him and his team through the jungle into the interior. After a few days of travelling, cutting through the undergrowth etc., a faint tribal drum beat could be heard in the distance. Dumm dada dum, dumm dada dum.... The explorer goes to the guide and asks, 'I'm a bit worried about these drums, what do they mean?' The guide replies in broken English, 'When drum play very good, when drum stop, very very bad!' Reassured with this the explorer continues his expedition. After a few more days of continuous tribal drums in the distance, dumm dada dum, dumm dada dum.... his team begin to get worried too and ask the explorer to go to the guide again. So he goes and asks, 'My team are worried about the tribal drums, is everthing OK?' To which the guide replies again, 'When drum play very good, when drum stop, very very bad!' Reassured the explorer returns to his team and gives them the reassurance that all is OK. A few days later the team start to get headaches and nausea from the inceasant tribal drumming, dumm dada dum, dumm dada dum.... so the explorer goes to the guide again and tells him about the problems the team are suffering. Again the guide says, 'When drum play very good, when drum stop, very very bad!' After being given this explanation so many times, the explorer decides to press the guide to tell him more. 'Explain about the drums', he demands. The guide repeats 'When drum play very good, when drum stop, very very bad!' The frustrsted explorer screams 'Yes, but why?!' The guide eventually replies 'when drum stop, then come bass solo!'
