How many bassists have NOT slept in a bass bag?

Well? I certainly can't count myself as one...

I only want to see pics of double-occupancy bass bags, thank you! Well, or, single occupancy of the opposite gender... I'll shut up now...

There was a time not too long ago that I'd forgotten to pack a blanket for a trip, and the bass bag worked quite well as a substitute.

I haven't yet... but at all-east the principal slept in her bag (well more of a nap before a concert).

I've done it before. I was away at a camp in Oneonta and it was during a heatwave. The 15 minute walk just wasn't worth it to go from the performing arts building to the dorm for a nap, so I took a nap in my bass bag.

Thumbs down Sleeping in Bass Bag

I slept in this super deluxe bass bag once in the bass room of a university. I don't recommend it. I didn't sleep well and I had nowhere to shower in the morning.

Hehe, we bass players are sure a weird bunch. I too have slept in my bass bag at the bass room of the University. This was of course before we stole...."aquired" a nice long couch from the lobby. Man, I had some nice sleep in that room.

Never in a bass bag yet but I used to sleep on the top of a van full of Kustom Roll and Pleat amps going from town to town in the middle of the night.

I don't miss that.

Heck yeah! Isn't that why it's padded? Mooradian Deluxe for a night of luxurious sleep....ah yes..... slab players are missing out, big time.

I've never done... 1st: I need a comfrotable place to sleep... 2nd I'm as big that maybe only a 8/8 DB flight case would suit me !

Being 5'3" does help. My bass is 6'2" if I remember correctly. :>

bass bag and sleeping

Morning all,

I have a picture of my son sleeping in an old Knilling bag I had years ago. He was about 6-7 years old and had his feet crammed down into the "neck" of the bag. The bag was gray and it appeared as if a whale was swollowing Jonah.

As for me, it ain't going to happen. I'm 6'5" and weigh about 270 lbs. My American Standard dosen't look so big next to me, even though some folks consider it a smal 7/8ths size bass.

Look here Scroll down to see #731

If they made a bass bag for the Octobass, maybe that would work for me. Hopefully it would have a wheel or maybe a 2 ton truck.

I'm 6'4" and I fit more or less in my case. I guess my feet pop out a little bit.

Okay, second question;

Of all of the folks that have slept in their bass bags, how many have eaten rosin to survive? Show of hands?

My bass deserves to more comfortable than me.

I've used an inflated bladder of wine (extracted from the box o' wine), and used it as a pillow. That's as close as I'll get.

Long-necked sleeping bag

My cat often sleeps in the bass bags of my students when they come over to my place for a lesson.

My toddler sometimes sneeks in as well!

I've caught some quick cat naps on my gig bag during practice sessions. SoundWear Performers has some decent padding zips wide open so you can lay it down totally with the insides facing up. It's extra cushy when it's also laying on carpet. |-)

And the Carlsson's does taste kinda funny - very crunchy tho. KIDDING!

Carlson seems like it'd give you a toothache, but it's probably reasonably nutricious. Now Pops on the other hand, I'm convinced that junk is made of nothing but MSG and hydrogenated oils... Might be tasty, but no food value at all.
