It's still fun to watch though. |

It's still fun to watch though. | It hasn't been doctored, it's just the shutter speed of the video camera causing this visual effect. If you put your fingerboard in front of a TV screen (an old one, not a fancy new one with high Hz refresh rate) and play your bass, you'll see exactly the same effect. |

It's probably an interference pattern between the 60Hz vertical TV scan and the bass strings fundamentals and harmonics.
E = 41Hz
A = 55Hz
D = 73Hz
G = 98Hz

| | | That was pretty amazing!
I noticed something a little odd though (Photography being my other creative outlet...)... It says it was filmed with a Canon 5DmkII and a Nikon 50mm lens... To you photo geeks out there, what exactly would be the purpose of jerry rigging those two pieces of equipment together? |

We used to mix and match stuff from different makers with all sorts of adapters. Some were less than ideal, because the adapters sometimes leaked light, or would flex with the extra weight and actually loosen up the camera body. That was a long time ago; I imagine they've improved since then. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
