Haha! That's good. I happen to hate rap. And hip hop. I'm 18 by the way. I'm an Ol' Soul I guess!

I don't know man, there's a lot of great rap out there. I know its a joke but its not a great call to lambast a whole genre. Plus it has its roots as an improvisational art form.

Although, Nice illustrations.

Should the punch line not be who took the C out or crap? Since rap never had a C in it to begin with. That joke is nothing new either.

"RAP" started out as an acronym for "Rhythm And Poetry."

Like any kind of music, unless you are really into the genre, you are only going to be familiar with what is popular.

McDonald's is popular. You would be better off raising an infant on soy milk and apple juice than food from McDonald's.

Music is the same way. The popular stuff is unhealthy and leaves you unfulfilled. I used to think all rap was crap, until I started opening myself up to it. Once I got past the popular c-rap, I found a lot of talent and creativity.

I don't think I own a single rap album, but I completely agree. What I hear on the TV and Radio doesnt' reach me, but back in the '80's in the halls of my high school, the guys were brilliant. I've been to some some poetry slams here in Seattle and felt the same way, not exactly rap, but not entirely different either.

Art is art. There are great artists in every medium.

Miles dug rap...

There's an artistry involved that is improvisational by nature and transcends our plane.. You try spitting out something witty and in time, that rhymes freestyle and you'll see what I mean... Some of rap's premier practitioners (Tribe Called Quest, Nas, ChuckD, Bid Daddy Kane, The Pharcyde, etc) are on par with any jazz musician as far as complexity of improvisation. There's a reason why Miles included them so prominently on his last album.. Looks like Miles is still 20 years ahead of us...
