| A real pro
Saturday night I was at a birthday party for a musician friend, and so of course a lot of the guests were musicians, and we all had fun playing and telling stories. I heard a lot of great stories, but my favorite was about (of course) a bassist who was there.
He and the guest of honor were doing a tour some year ago, and he contracted a mild case of food poisoning. That night, on stage, backing up an oldies group, he became violently ill. He walked over to the side of the stage and puked his guts out.
The janitor, seeing this, threw some material on the vomit to soak it up, and being a wise and experienced janitor, put a large garbage can there as well. And a few minutes later our hero walked over to the stage and did it again.
And all this time, says the guitarist on the gig "he didn't miss a single note!"
