Remember the part in Varley's Millennium where they're playing back the CVR into the cockpit mic after they removed the pilot who made the original recording?

Kinda like that, maybe. Keep an eye out for Cheryl Ladd!

That's almost as irritating as Little Richard, ripping off those tunes from that nice boy Pat Boone.

I was gigging with The Shirelles once, and they were about to rehearse their tune "Boys". The (new) guitarist said "Oh yeah, the Beatles song"..... and three Shirelles spun around as one, and said "you had better be kidding!"

As in any tradition,I think that Otis Rush borrowed from Son House. He electrified it.

The rest of these guys copied off Otis, many times note for note.

Cool Rip Offs

I can't believe how blatantly Robert Johnson ripped of Eric Clapton with all those Cream riffs/songs and Elmore James stole like a thief from Keith Richards. Those guys had no shame!

I worked in a stereo store while going through college back in the early 80's. We always had some vinyl sitting around for the turntable shoppers. Two young ladies came in picked up a Beatles album. One turned to the other and said "Hey, did you know that Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings?".

I could have cried.

I played a number of years with Bo Diddley and audience members would make comments like "I liked that song you played by the Yardbirds". He would also at times get requests shouted from the audience that were songs recorded by other artists that he had never recorded. He would look the person in the eyes and say "I'm Bo Diddley".
