Are $2 Bills worth more?

Someone said that old $2 bills are worth more than $2 each, since they're a rare bill. I was wondering if this was true, since I've got a whole stack of minty ones from 1976.

Probably. I have a bunch from when Canada got rid of them back in 1996, I'll keep them around for another 50 or so years.

Since they're from '76, they've probably doubled in value but that's about it.

I doubt it. I get them really frequently as change at movie theaters.

They're worth whatever you can get someone to give you for one. Or $2.

One of the strip clubs in Portland (ME) gives out change in $2 bills. That way, the strippers get paid more.

Or so I've heard.

It seems like I always get $2 bills as change in odd places: the Post Office (whose stamp machines are also the only place I get dollar coins), exchanging money in the airport before leaving Italy, and a lone two dollar bill from the one time I used a Coinstar machine.

I'll give you $80 for that stack. The US dollar just isn't as trong as it used to be...

A friend of mine, who lives in a town of about 300 people, got the idea to always get five $2 bills when cashing his weekly paycheck and then spend them around town at various places. After a few months people were wondering why there were so darn many $2 bills in circulation all of a sudden.
