Way to go Mr.Gates. I like this kind a rich guy.
One quarter of a billion kids will have access to life saving vaccines. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/14/he...14vaccine.html
The two leading causes of death of children under 5 in the developing world are diarrhea and pneumonia, both easily treated with vaccines.
$4.3 billion goes to one quarter of a billion kids. Stunning in this day and age.

The real challenge, though, (once it gets to 'this' side) is to get the money to be spent where it needs to be, and to avoid it making its way into the pockets of corrupt officials/middlemen

Mr. and Mrs. Gates, as well as their foundation (Gates Foundation) have donated HUGE amounts of money, time and resources all over the place, year after year. If only more people like him would take his example and follow it!
For example, since I like to bash on Steve Jobs, he basically donates nothing, to anyone/anything. |

GAVI is a small outift with roughly 150 people. People fat it isn't.

Actually check that...more americans, not just billionaires. Most of us are rich compared to the rest of the world. We should all be giving to the cause... any cause. Gates is a great example in that regard.
