Seriously. I just downloaded the new version and it is without doubt the biggest heap of complete garbage I have ever come across.
When I booted it up half the library was missing and I ended up manually restoring over 100hrs of music.
Then when I wanted to listen to Def Leppard I went into the library and found myself going around in circles because some of my Leppard CDs were marked as metal and others as rock. It also couldn't find album info for some of my Depeche Mode singles.
Add to that the seriously annoying interface and the fact it deleted some of the songs and I'm losing my patience.
Anyone?

If I want to listen to heavy rock, then I'll select it, and for example my Queens of the Stone Age album will be there, minus some songs, which are ballads. |

Anyone? | That is exactly why I don't bother using media player, or itunes, or any piece of software that expects to organise my 'library' of music. I stick my music in a folder structure that makes sense to me, and use winamp to play what I want to listen to. I find it much easier and I feel like I have total control. I really don't like the library structures that other programs use.

I have used Winamp most of my life but I use Foobar2000 now. Winamp is awesome for a little compact, easy to use player, but Foobar uses much less memory and is incredibly customizable. |

It's the one thing MS makes that doesn't look or navigate like a Windows product. Their "library" approach is a huge pain in the butt. just let me open my files - I KNOW where they are.
And iTunes? Completely non-intuitive for PC users, and forces you to comb through level after level to find anything. I hate it.

What makes it even more annoying is that for some CDs it finds the wrong information and then won't let you correct it, like when it was saying my Depeche Mode CD was the Australian Import version.

BUT it forces you to install an invasive little program called "Quicktime" with it.

At first it's a big change, and you'll probably hate it, I did. I almost went back to using WMP, but all the glitches, bugs and horrid sound quality forced me back to WinAmp. My whole life up until a few years ago, I used WMP, and it was nothing but a pain in the arse that hung all the time. Been using WinAmp for around three years now and it has hung no more than two times.
