How did youome across TB...?

I first came across it because Total Guitar stopped doing it's bass issue after just four issues( a great magazine, how I miss it) and I was buzzing around the TG forums at the time...
Then I decided to go to a more bass-specific forum, typed 'Bass Guitar forum' into Google and this is what came up

Glad I found it. It's not too big, it's not too small and intelligent people abound!

EDIT:The bold HTML in the thread title didn't work...(please ignore terrible typo's as well!)

I think I was searching the net for something bass related, and I found TB. I think I did this a couple of times before I actually registered. I didn't actively look for a bass forum, but I'm glad I found this one.

I think I was looking for a new amp and was doing a google search for information on Peaveys. Up popped TB. I signed up, never looked back.

I was looking at getting an OLP 5-string bass since they were so cheap, when my wife said "why not get a real 5-string Stingray instead?" So I decided if I was going to drop that kind of money, I ought to do some more research . . .

In the four years since I discovered TB, I've gone from 2 basses to 10 basses, having bought and sold a number of others along the way. Prior to finding TB I had been satisfied with my Ric and my Steinberger for 15 years.

So all this GAS is really my wife's fault, you see . . .

Got online in '98; hit a site called "Dave On Bass"...tons of Bass-related links.
His Talk Bass description said 'talk to bassists, pros & amateurs, etc".
What the Hell, I tried it.
My 1st-ever post was in a Jaco/Joni thread about the Shadows & Light album.
Craig Garfinkel responded to me & he was very cool...been here ever since.

I always look up info on basses before(and sometimes after ) I buy them. At the time all I had for internet was my cell phone, and different threads for TB kept popping up. Once I got a new computer, it was just a matter of time before I registered.

I was friends with "ChrisA", Former Moderator (RIP Brother - See Sticky at top of forum). I was doing some fill in work for him on gigs and he mentioned TB. So I checked it out. I was on the forums just kind of browsing around as a guest for a few months before I registered. My first post was actually in the thread about Chris, a great guy. So I owe it to him.

I was searching google for "basses" and came across JT's double neck monster. Went to the Lord Only website, and randomly checked his links. (Which I never do!) and his first link was talkbass.

So...I checked, and joined!
And the first day I posted I got ripped apart by Ed.

I was looking at basses on ebay a couple years ago, mainly handmade ones. I found out about Wishbass, as someone was selling one. They had a link to Talkbass somewhere in the post, I think. I signed up and have been a member ever since.

TB is a huge resource!

LMAO. So what you're saying is that things haven't changed much for you since then.

I was in Oregon visiting some relatives and had the opportunity to stop by Lee Barker's shop to check out a Barker Vertical Bass or three. In the course of our conversation, Lee mentioned that he could be found around these here parts. I stopped by to check him out, found the rest of the forums, wandered in to OT and have been stuck in here ever since. Now I don't get anything done anymore. Damn you Lee Barker!!!
