Other than radio, music, GPS Nav. I have those three.

I'm just getting really bored and I'm wondering if there's any tips or tricks to a commute. I've never really done it before for this length.

45 minutes on the freeway.

10 to 120 minutes on a bus; I bring reading material, and music.

And coffee if the morning is particularly rough.

Oh yeah, I should mention to include activities/stuff for both the car drive (like, me driving) and the bus ride. Thanks all!

If you live in the city and drive to and from work, start taking public transit. It's a totally different animal, it might take you longer, but it's much less stressful and you don't have to worry about driving. You can do pretty much anything while on a bus.

I take a 45 min train ride plus a 20 min bus ride every day except Friday. I bring my laptop with the 3G adapter, and get some schoolwork done, and my zune and thats all i really need.

learn the phonetic alphabet and practice on the license plates you see. my job uses the phonetic alphabet so i found it was a really easy way to practice.
ex: a license plate ABC-123 would read Alpha Bravo Charlie 1 2 3

And some mornings while listening to the same song 3 times in a row on the same station in the matter of 45 min kinda makes you want to cut the wheel doesn't it?
