My aunt and uncle used to have a springer spaniel/cocker spaniel mix... I don't think there was a sweeter, better behaved dog on the planet. Beautiful dogs.

I have had springer, lab, poodle. Now I have a labradoodle and I must say that "Buddy" is the smartest, most affectionate, coolest dog I have had the pleasure to own.

Labradoodles and Golden Doodles are generally excellent dogs: smart, fun, affectionate, athletic. My Porty is all that too, and whenever he meets one of those two hybrid breeds they become instant friends.

Labrador Retrievers also have been #1 in my list mainly because they are the best-tempered dogs IMO, but if appearance were the only aspect to consider, Basset Hounds are the winners for me.

P.S.: I love any kind of dog, anyway.
