"restructured meat product" contains a mixture of tripe, heart, and scalded stomach, which is then mixed with salt and water to extract proteins from the muscle
| Yum! Quote: |
that the pork sandwich contains a total of 70 ingredients. This includes azodicarbonamide, a flour-bleaching agent often used in the production of foamed plastics [like, yoga mats]
| Yum!

. . . . | I avoid meat for the same reason.
Separately, McDonald's has been on my "don't eat" list for a long time. After eating natural food (for lack of a better term), quite a few items at McDonald's taste spoiled or rancid to me (no, I am not exaggerating to make a point).

| | | | My grandmother and parents used to make us eat Scrapple. Once I found out what it was, I never ate it again.
Scrapple is typically made of hog offal (variety meats or organ meats), such as the head, heart, liver, and other trimmings, which are boiled with any bones attached (often the entire head), to make a broth. Once cooked, bones and fat are discarded, the meat is reserved, and (dry) cornmeal is boiled in the broth to make a mush. The meat, finely minced, is returned to the pot and seasonings, typically sage, thyme, savory, black pepper, and others are added. The mush is formed into loaves and sliced and fried. |

This dang thread actually made me want a McRib, despite the fact that they suck. I'm eating it now - Oh, and it's everything I hoped it would be and so much more! I just spit out a pickle slice and it stuck to the wall. Why do they put pickles on these things???

Like I said, I'll eat a lot of things but I draw the line at knowingly chomping down on bugs.

Sometimes you need to just eat something that sucks. It puts life in perspective. Quote:
