What do you think being made fun of is like for people who aren't pretty? Anyone ever given you a swirly, spit on you food, stolen your belongings only to trash them? You got one little dose of the reality that all those "untouchables" face everyday and you hung yourself.
It may sound cold, it may be harsh but I honestly have no sympathy, none....I'm actually borderline pleasantly amused. Natural selection at it's finest. |

Just because a person is popular doesnt mean they don't suffer inside as well. Its often easier for a good looking person to become popular, sure, but sometimes they realize that they may only be popular for their looks, and that can develop a very insecure personality.

...I don't wish death on anyone, even my worst enemies but I honestly feel nothing for this girl. Buck up, your being picked on because your pretty?! That's not being picked on that is being complemented.
I can understand if "pretty" is a euphemism for "slut" or something. On the surface though this girl was either incredibly weak, shallow and narrow/short sighted...or there was much more going on.

Apparently there's more to the story than she killed herself because she's pretty. She obviously had some family/personal issues already. Someone with a healthy family and psyche probably could have overcome this issue. Obviously, she's not one of them. |

I can see your point though - bullying is equally bad no matter who is on the receiving end. Would the news media pay as much attention to "kid commits suicide because 'too ugly'"? A kid can get bullied for ANY darn thing that sets them apart. Plus, it takes more than a bully's words to sting, it takes a victim who for whatever reason is not fully able to cope or deal with the bullying for whatever reason.
Her killing herself is NO different than some "ugly" kid doing the same. None.
