A 13th zodiac sign?

Sign in to disble this ad
I know all of this astrology business is pretty lame and scientifically invalid, but it can be fun

So apparently, we are in for an overhaul:

So we were wrong all this time

Woody Allen once said there was a Zodiac sign (or maybe just a constellation) of Euripedes, The Pants Salesman.

Yeah and the signs are about to shift too, BTW.

2012 is the age of Aquarius, and every constellation shifts one, Pieces now = Aquarius, etc. (not coincidentally this is also why the Mayan calendar ends, it's a new astrological age).

If you actually go by the ecliptic the shift has already taken place for pretty much everyone, although 2012 is the official completion.

...This should rattle the bubble headed bleach blonds to the core, if they can wrap their heads around it.

yeah which is why I said "bubble headed bleach blonds" and not just "bleach blonds"

I also think I was channeling Don Henley...which is scary in and of it self.

I would like to think it would also undermine the folks who make really big bucks out of peddling this rubbish to a gullible public. But it won't - people who crave crap will always be ripe for exploitation by those willing to sell it to them.

Wouldn't the change apply only to new births? Hence, you'd still be a Pisces since you were born under that sign but a child born this year on the same date would be an Aquarius.

Also, after reading this I can't get that "Age of Aquarius" song out of my head.

If I remember my astronomy class stuff correctly (it's been years, and can't find my notes) there are actually 14 constellations now in the ecliptic (area of the sky where the astrologically important constellations are.) I think there was a book printed a number of years ago that added the two extra constellations, changed the dates for what birthdate = what sign, and so forth and so on. Sorry, I haven't looked at any astrology stuff for quite some time, so can't be any more specific. If I can look up some of the info I'll try to post it later.
