I would just delete this post.

My thoughts go out to this guys family and friends. I'm sure he's a hero to the family of the one he saved and many more. RIP.

Unfortunately the bandmate whom Basschat member 18 year old Timothy Kennelly was trying to save, 21 year old guitarist Leon Villalba, also drowned.

And to add injury to injury, NONE of the members of their band had travel insurance.

In the wake of this heart-wrenching loss of young talent I sincerely hope that record companies will add MANDATORY travel insurance for band members to the list of things which are done to put their bands on tour.

I also hope that labels begin doing a better job of coaching their group's less experienced members as to proper form when touring abroad.

I'm not laying blame here. 'Just saying there are lessons to be learned.

Let's not allow ambivalence and willful ignorance an opportunity to depreciate the memory of these two lads and the rewarding careers they likely would've had.

Even if the band did have travel insurance they would still be at the mercy of the insurance company. Some insurance company doesn't cover risky behaviors. What happened is tragic, but he should have known better. He got himself killed, and dragged his friend w/ him.
