Here we go. It's finally here! Post up your predictions and discussions.
The only game I'm really interested in is Boise St vs Virginia Tech. I'm pulling for the Hokies big time as I'm tired of hearing about Boise St and their schedule. It would be nice to see them lose right out of the gate so that we can put that aside.

Here comes my obligatory Auburn prediction Arkansas State vs. Auburn
With even more power on offense now than in previous years and more experience and depth on defense, I see my Tigers making a statement in this opener. There's a ton of momentum in our program and I see us capitalizing on it. I expect nothing short of a complete rout. Auburn wins 51-10.
Another interesting game in the lineup is LSU vs. UNC. As much as I hate LSU I'd still like the SEC to remain dominant (yes, i'm an SEC fanboy). It's going to be close but I think LSU pulls it out in the end.

There's nothing but bandwagoners down here. One guy I ran into the mall decided to heckle me for my AU shirt and hat then talked about how he loved seeing Brodie Croyle win a national title...

A lot of my college buddies were FSU fans, naturally since FSU was in their dynasty years. Many of those same friends are now Gator fans.

Once he leaves the program, a whole lot of UW fans are going to realize what an excellent player they missed out on watching play in person. He just happened to come through when the Huskies were going through their worst stretch of football ever, so a lot of fans quit going to games. Yes, football fans up here are the definition of fair weather.
At the moment, the college football fandom up here is split up between Boise State and Bama fans with the UW contingent growing each week. Many of those were Florida and Ohio State/Oklahoma fans the couple years before.

I've seen a fair share of SEC stuff, but when teams start winning, bandwagon riders appear.
Tennessee will (should) spank Martin. I'm prediction the spread to be around 45 for that game.
Notre Dame has a little better test that week in Purdue. I think the Irish win by 14.

Florida starts out with a little tuneup vs. Miami.* This should give that talented freshman class some playing time, and Brantley a chance to work on timing with his receivers.

Of course there are gonna be some bandwagon types, especially in the middle of the state well away from UF, FSU or Miami.

I lived in Central and South Florida for many years. Take away Metro Miami, and Florida isn't that different from Alabama IMHO. And Alabama is full of fair-weather fans. People are people...at least that has been my experience having lived all around the country.

So it makes sense to me that there is a large group of front runner UF, FSU, Miami, USF, and so on fans. It's the same in California and Arizona. People come from around the country, some stick with the teams where they came from, others adopt the successful team when they get there. Since they have no historical loyalty, then they just migrate to another program when it starts winning.
I am kind of like that out here. When UW is winning, I support them. When WSU wins, I support them more.
