2011 NFL Preseason/ The Beginning

OK Guys,

As of last night the NFL preseason has begun. A few interesting tidbits aside from Dallas winning.

#1 Field goals make me nervous.

#2 Tubby laid off the Biscuits & Gravy and lost 40lbs

Dallas depth looks good on both sides of the ball. Cincy not so much.

Phillips looked like a starting TE only to get injured.

There is a guy named Nichols QB'ing for Dallas

AND ABOVE ALL I CAN'T WAIT FOR "BATMAN & ROBIN" TO IMPLODE.

TO's contract is so laced with incentives I say they'll have the wheels coming off by week 6. No more Bromance when $ is on the line for TO.

Whatchu guys think? How do you anticipate your games turning out????

God Bless, Ray

I'm hoping to find a way to catch the live broadcast of my NFL CHAMPION Saints versus the Patsies in Foxboro Thursday night.

I'm pretty stoked about the upcoming season, they retained all 11 offensive starters from their Championship Season (during which they were the #1 offense). On defense, 9 of 11 starters are back - Charles Grant is now in Miami taking up a roster spot (for now) and probably eating all the burgers in south Florida (i.e., not missed at ALL in NOLA); and Scott Fujita is now in Cleveland, where he is being overpaid, but hey, good for Scotty - he deserves the payday, IMO.

Added some FA depth on the DL (Alex Brown from the Bears, Wilkerson from the Bucs), drafted some potential on both defense and offense (Robinson from FSU will be a very solid CB IMO, Woods has the potential to be a horse at DT, Grahamat TE has a lot of potential as well - but he only has one year of experience at the college level...).

I'm feelin' a TWO DAT!!!

The AFC North will be fun this year. Even Cleveland has a chance to get better. Flacco should be even better than he has been, and if nothing else, it will be fun to watch what comes out of Cincy each week.

Pittsburgh will be fine. With Troy healthy all year, and McFadden back in the secondary, things will be better on defense. While Ben is out, Dixon or Leftwich will do just fine filling in. I am looking most forward to see how the WRs do without Holmes around as the deep threat. Maybe it can be Wallace, but we'll see. Unlike last season, we'll be around come playoff time. After all this season is the Stairway to Seven.

I am very interested to see how Tebow does in Denver. If he ends up playing a lot, I am going to go out to a game at Mile High.

-Mike

I see a 10-6, 11-5 season for my Texans. As for the Bucs, well it can only get better I guess.

My biggest hope is to just beat the Colts in the season opener.

No coverage at the watering hole you frequent?

You'll need to make sure the Steelers resign Neil O'Donnell if you want the second half of that comment to come true.

Nah, We'll just have a few of the "Shakedancers" take ol' Ben out to the club and he won't know what to do with himself

On paper, the Giants should be up for a good year ....

Manning had career high stats (4021 yards for 27 TD's with 14 INT's), both Bradshaw and Jacobs have had knee work done and have healed beautifully, Nicks and Manningham have stepped up at wide receiver (although neither is as good as the gun-toting Burress was). The D is in good shape with the usual suspects (Justin Tuck, Umenyiora, Kiwanuka) joined by Jason Pierre-Paul from USF who fits the NYG DT mold beautifully. The corners are good and getting better, and the safety Phillips is finally looking healthy ....

If the running game comes back, the Giants will be tough ...

Ya know, unless he really is learning a lesson and improving himself, that may be a better defense week to week than anything an opposing DC can put on the field.

From New Orleans, that'd be "up", Dallas is northwest of the greatest city on earth.

The Saints get to make that trip twice this season...once to have a Thanksgiving feast of Cowgirl....second to get Lombardi Gras II underway...

Colts are highest favorites.

Whatchu think about Indy being favored over NOLA?

Interesting post LilRay...
Of course, betting odds reflect the oddsmakers' perceptions of betting patterns rather than an objective analysis of what experts expect.

Everyone's perception of the Saints is colored by the past, not the present or future.

Fine with me, I like being a slight underdog...

...as I've pointed out already, the team has returned 20 of 22 starters, and the ENTIRE coaching staff - find another team that has done that following a SB win...or heck, after ANY season. They have also added a great deal of depth in many key areas, so I have confidence that TWO DAT is not just a pair of words that rhyme with WHO DAT, it's a statement of fact.
