Does anyone have a favorite in The Preakness tomorrow? http://www.preakness.com/
Boring me, I'm going to stick with Big Brown, The Kentucky Derby winner.
Not that he's my favorite, but I want to see a Triple Crown winner this year.
Let's pray that no more horses get hurt this time.
We remember you, Eight Belles. Poor girl.
Mike

| | | | Barbaro and now Eight Belles, it's terrible.
But I'll be cheering for Big Brown. I want to see a triple crown winner, something that Barbaro would've done if not for the unfortunate injury.
It's horrible, I missed maybe the first Kentucky Derby of my life and I missed the last movements of a beautiful filly. |

As much as people love horses, I think everyone has an extra soft spot for a filly.
I have a nice lithograph of Ruffian, which my father left me; I'll have to take a photo of it and post it here.
What a gorgeous filly she was!
The Preakness is the forgotten race of the Triple Crown.
Everyone likes The Kentucky Derby, because they want to see which horse will win, but if The Derby winner wins The Preakness, then the entire world watches The Belmont Stakes to see if there'll be a Triple Crown winner.
Come on, Big Brown!

I'm no expert on horses or horse racing, but at the finish line Big Brown didn't appear to be anywhere near his potential.
I really hope he wins at Belmont.
