I left VA beach and caught this beastly striped bass off of the upper tip of the Outer Banks. 42 lb citation striper! 4 of us caught our limit by 11AM and they were all HUGE. For those not familiar with this species, and it's typical size, this is a big fish.

And in case it isn't abundantly clear, I'm bragging. This is something we fisherman do. Except in a couple years this fish will magically grow to 52 lbs.

Nice catch, I did land a 42 pound King Salmon (pre digital camera) on a fly rod with an 8 pound tippet several years ago. I bet that fished tugged a little bit. How long did she take to land?

What does the tone material sound like?

| A bit like crackling oil or the hum of an electric oven depending on how I cook it.

there was a SNL sketch years ago called "bass-o-matic". some guy slowly lowered a good sized fish (dead) into a blender, filled with water, that was turned on. the fish slowly gets chewed up and makes a big mess in the blender, mixing with the water. then the guy pours a glass full of this stuff, drinks it and declares with a big ****eating grin:
"MMMMM .... THAT'S GOOD BASS!!!"
