The 50,000 dollar wave

Tonight they will announce the Billabong XXL awards. These are awards given out in the following categories. There are a few categories but the one that is most noteworthy is the biggest documented wave. Here's a link the home page. There's video of some of the finalists.

All I can say is that I have never put my foot on a surfboard, yet I am extremely jealous and wishing I lived closer to the ocean sometimes.

I've always "wished" the same thing... reality is that it is probably for the best the "surfer thing" never happened for me... I'd have been crab poo long ago.
