RIP Dime.

RIP, Dime. I also think you had the coolest nickname in rock!

Not to mention the piece of **** killed 3 other people that night.
According to Wiki:
"Theories of motive suggested that Gale may have turned to violence in response to the breakup of Pantera, or the public dispute between Abbott and the Pantera singer Phil Anselmo. According to his friends, Gale thought Pantera was "trying to steal his identity."[2] One friend recounts a story in which Gale showed up to a band practice with lyrics he claimed to have written, though these lyrics were clearly Pantera lyrics.[3] All of these theories were later ruled out by investigators. In the Vulgar Display Of Power book, several of Gale's personal writings, given to the author by Gale's mother, suggest that the gunman was not angry about Pantera's breakup or about a belief that Pantera had "stolen songs"; instead, the documents suggest that Gale's paranoid schizophrenia caused delusions that the band could read his mind, and that they were "stealing" his thoughts and laughing at him."

RIP, Dime. I also think you had the coolest nickname in rock! | Yes, I heard from people that knew him personally and he was everything they say he was. I heard a story about how he was either late for a show, bus, ( not really sure what) because he would not leave a signing until every last fan got an autograph. A real class act and a major talent.

I thought I was gonna miss him. But when I finally got there, among the last few people still waiting, he still had a big smile and was very willing and happy to not only give a few autographs but chat for a minute too. AWESOME guy.
Watch any of the Pantera home videos. He was a maniac and partied accordingly, but he was a hell of a nice guy.

I had a similar experience with Wednesday 13 when I saw him in Allentown PA.. entire band was getting over the flu and yet hung out, talked to, signed autographs for, and took pictures with every person who wanted |

We can speculate all we want,...but motive doesn't take away from the tragedy of the event.
RIP Dimebag. |

It's a point of pride that Pantera opened for us.
The feeling I got hearing about Darrell was just like hearing about SRV.

If you like the 80's glam/hair metal, go for the 80's stuff.
If you like heavier thrash stuff, go for the 90's.
Power Metal (the link you provided) was kind of their transition album, being the first one with Phil singing. Between that one and CFH you can hear a good deal of both, the glam style and the heavier stuff starting to surface. It is most definitely awesome.
Although I must say, you're the first person I've seen who prefers the early stuff. I have nothing against it, but I never met anyone who liked it better. Eh, if you're into 80's glam rock, go for it. It's good stuff.
