I agree with the grandmother on wanting to whoop his ass. He obviously didn't regret the incident at all, and now he's got mo' "street cred" to his name. Yeah, spanking your kids is a horrible thing, regardless if it works or not! It's just a phase, right?

wow. if i did that when i was 7 my father would have broken both my legs, I'm 25 now and I'd probably still be grounded.

I would have beaten the crap out of him if i was his grandmother, your supposed to raise you children and be good role models, not be their friends and not let them get away with it

It's always about blaming video games/music/films and not the parents/society.

The next time I get pulled over by a cop, I can't wait to roll down my window and say, "I wanted to do it, because it's fun! It's fun to do bad things. I wanted to do hoot rat stuff with my friends."

(Terribly stolen from D-listed)

I should be required that parents beat their kids daily, this will solve the problem.

"Can my momma help pay for it?"

This kid should be forced to work to pay it all off regardless that he's 7 years old. He knew what he did.

The most ridiculous part is that the kid doesn't even care! He has no concept about what could have happened. It's bad enough that he cause a ton of damage, but he could have easily run someone down and killed them. And add insult to injury, the kid thinks that a weekend with no video games is a fair punishment!

His grandma said she'd beat him him if she didn't think she'd go to jail. I'm in favor of dropping any charges against her right now.

I don't see what the big deal is. No one was hurt. Grandma's insurance will pay for the damage.

He learnt hisself a valuable life lesson. Now he can be free to express himself in other non-offensive ways. He's a 'lil valuable snowflake. I think you all are being terribly judgmental. I'm even more shocked and appalled at the violent reaction of the grand mother. Thank goodness the usually evil police were there to protect this little gentleman from her wrath!

Hopefully Child Protective Services will take him away from her, to save him any further threats of abuse.

I think that might be the worst part... that the only consideration of consequences is what's going to happen to HIM.
