I saw something in the news today about this 8 year old Aussie girl competing in a kickboxing tournament. She's trained by her father, who's a kickboxing champion himself, and she seems to really enjoy it. There's a huge outcry against it, and it got me to thinking, not about whether it's right or wrong, but about how fast we get information today, and what we do with it. I remember, for example, how Walter Gretzky would play his 7 year old son Wayne against 14 and 15 year olds, with nary a peep against it, and Earl Woods regularly pitting his young son Tiger against much older competition, again with not a word against it.
Any thoughts? 8 year old girl completes first kickboxing bout
