I think i threaded at 7 years, but what the hell...
8 years ago the World Trade Centers stood.
Neither of my daughters had been born (one would be born two days after 9/11/2001)
I played an import spector thru a fender bxr that I still own and wondered if I could record on a computer.
I lived in Cleveland in an apartment where i had to empty a bucket of gray water everyday.
I bought a metronome in a shop by CWRU that i use in my office at TESC.

8 years ago, I had no interest in music, I was nine years old, and just finishing up fourth grade.

I was probably playing a Star Wars computer game, if not my N64.

I lived here, as I have for my entire life.

8 years ago I had been playing bass for a couple of months, and my biggest worry was whether whether one of the girls in my science class would go out with me.

8 years ago I was a n00b at TB, was middle thirties and touring the east coast with a 7 second Corvette in NSCA outlaw street as well as IHRA Top Sportsman.

All that and a fulltime job and playing in a band.

Eight years ago I was a college student with hair down to my ass. I had a mustang that ran and had less rust and dents, roommates who smoked too much weed, and I worked evenings, part time for the same employer I have now (been over a decade at this point). My bass gear, which was considerably smaller and less impressive relative to now was spread out between my hometown and San Diego where I'd moved only six months earlier. I hadn't played in a band since I'd moved down here, and wouldn't actively seek another for two years.

I drank the cheapest beer with the highest potency, pork shoulder and rice were staples of my diet, I slept on the floor because beds were for candyasses, and I wouldn't meet my girlfriend for a couple more years.

My tastes were simpler, my temper was shorter, my mouth was bigger, my assets were smaller.

I was 19 years old.
I was busting my ass in a recording studio in LA.
At the end of a dead end relationship.
I drove a 86 Toyota 4 Runner.
I had a Ibanez GSR 200 in a gig bag that went everywhere with me.
I drank like a fish an smoked like a chimmney.

8 years ago I still lived in Germany. We moved here when my dad retired. I had not started music at all.

8 years ago I was thirteen, I was very shy, I didn't wear glasses, I had a short haircut, me and my parents had just moved to a new apartment, I hadn't started balding.

I didn't think I would play music.

I also forgot to mention that 8 years ago I had stopped playing music altogether for about 4 or 5 years. Had sold all my gear and moved West. I discovered TB as I was in the process of getting back in to music - life saver! Thanks Paul!

8 years ago, I was only 14. I hadn't started to play music, and I was just starting high school. I was going to grow up to be a writer. Now I've got my first university degree in English, looking forward to starting my first serious band, and just enjoying life (probably too much, at times).

Eight years ago I was a bright eyed boy who purchased his first bass using savings money and joined TalkBass. (It's still my only bass - I ended up becoming a guitard.)

I was either in 8th or 9th grade and thought Metallica was the coolest band ever. I don't really even like them anymore. Or most metal now, really. Now I'm a year away from graduating college.

I lived with my parents. Still do, same house, same bedroom. This time next year will be different though.

I promised myself when I was around that age I'd never drink or do drugs. I don't do drugs, but pass the whiskey plz.

I could barely jam root notes to nirvana songs then, now I've had an indie record deal, my songs played on a Clear Channel-owned radio station and played in crowds into the hundreds.

I was 10 years old finishing his fifth grade with ambition going to a english immersion school.

I lived in a little village of 800 peeps.

My parent were'nt divorced.

I had already interest in music. Noodling with a flute.

I was doing my first kickflip and tought that i would be a big skater.(though i had no skate)

Now dropped the Cameraman college. Living in an appartment with my sister ATM.
In august I'll be in a music college in bass. I passed an audition. Got the place

it's now been 1 year that I play bass. Some guys says that they thinked it had been 4 or 5 years. That make me smile when people say that.
