8th Annual Talkbass Fantasy Football League

FOOTBALL FANS!, can you believe that it's been 8 years now?! The league has been set up. As always, check the stat scoring system, check the draft date and time, including time zone!), and all other details. I prefer a date that is closer to the start of the season. This helps accommodate for training camp and preseason injuries, and allows for most of the preseason games to take place so that people can get a better idea of what rosters look like. It's about a week before kickoff, so trades can still happen in enough time before game 1.

Emails have been sent to last year's players. However, some haven't responded yet. If you're interested, PM me you email address. I'll waitlist players based upon when the PM was sent, and invitations will be sent out if there is a spot on the squad. I'll give the invitees from last year another 3 days or so to respond, and if there is no response, then I'll go to the waitlist. I do want to make sure that Farley, The Jive, JimK, Cassanova, and the Doc are in there. Embellisher, don't you usually join too?!

I understand that there are some rival leagues. Wouldn't it be rad if the winners of the different leagues could play each other in a playoff. Yahoo needs to invent that.

And finally, I look forward to my upcoming 4th Fantasy Football League. It's always a pleasure beating up on you guys. And JimK, how about fielding a decent team this year? It would be a nice change!

Although this league will accommodate only 10-12 players, I plan to start a Talkbass Survival League as well that can accommodate 35 players or more. Yahoo does not have a Survival League possible yet for the upcoming season, but I'll post a thread for it when it starts.

Honestly, I need to think about it for I make a decision for this year. Last year I forgot to log in for about three straight weeks, and after that boneheaded move I ended up skipping most of the end of the season.

I only want to commit to it if I can make it for the long haul, win or lose, since it's not fair to you guys if I forget to make roster moves etc. I'll let you know soon, Jazzbo.

Okay, invites were sent to all of last year's participants. It's been over a week, I believe, so I'm sending out invites to the top 3 on the wait list, (as there are three spots). I guess it's conceivable that, since there are 3 outstanding invites, plus the 3 I'm about to send on the wait list, that somebody could jump in over the wait listed folks. Hopefully, this all works out okay.

I will try to make it, but chances are, i won't, too much work tomorrow.
