So after paying $4.30 a gallon for gas tonight i remembered this classic....
What's the difference between buying gas and playing drums for Def Leppard?
Playing drums for Def Leppard will only cost you an arm...

I can buy most pedals on the market brand new for less then it cost him a tank of gas. And he fills up once a week! Good thing he's an engineer. He needs that kind of salary to keep his truck. Gas is retarded. Here it's 3.80 a gallon and they pump it out of the ground all around us! I can't believe in AK it's so expensive when they have the pipeline. Washington has a refinery and it's hovering around the $4 mark. Weekend before last my wife and I drove to Dallas to trade our Xterra in on a 4 cylinder Subaru. Smartest thing we've done all year.

The Canadians cannot understand why the USA does not utilize their own oil resources. We have enough here in the USA that we could become an oil exporting nation if we wanted. That would give us cheap gas and lots of jobs. |

EDIT - Sorry, my mistake... I had a mental arithmetic fail. It's actually $11.33 per gallon.

This is legendary. The article had me in stitches. I really don't have too many issues with inches and feet, but the volumetric system is seriously FUBAR.

It seems like once prices hit the $4 wall, people panic (rightfully so) and find ways to use less gas. Then supplies ease up, and prices come down. So keep panicking, and using less gas. |

It would have provided funds for alternate forms of transit, and disincentivized consumers from purchasing inefficient vehicles. Developers would have favored transit and dense development. Consumers in Sweden and other European countries can handle high gas prices because there is transit available and car ownership isnt mandatory there.
Instead, we have barely employed people living in far-off exurbs and suburbs, driving SUV's and pickup trucks through stop-and-go traffic to a job which may or may not be there tomorrow. It's a recipe for calamity.
Also, we're about to get BONED when gas prices spike this summer. It's really going to bite into my drive-to-practice budget, even with my 30 mpg. I can only imagine what it's going to do for the aforementioned exurbanites with kids to drive and inefficient cars to fuel.
