Abraham Lincoln- Vampire Hunter

I love history, the civil war era, horror movies and Lincoln so I can't wait! Anyone else?

I surprisingly am interested in it. I have a feeling it'll be so bad that it'll actually be good

that's where I'm at- it will either be terrible, or awesome. Terrible=awesome for me with horror movies, so either way I will enjoy it.

I saw the previews.... What is it with the vampire, demon, undead thing going on over the past decade or so.. I know it all got a kick start with Anne Rice but this is just ..too much.. I wll wait for the video.. and take my time at that.

By this time next year it'll be in the $5 bin at Walmart. Maybe even sooner!

Sounds potentially genius. Could also be terrible.

Actually, the book was quite entertaining, and a quick read, so I am looking forward to seeing how it translates to the screen.

What a concept. Tim Burton--not a fan. And an aging Civil War-era Lincoln still fighting vampires with his trusty axe?

Color me skeptical.

Greenbacks = Garlic

"I have two great enemies, the southern army in front of me and the financial vampire institutions, in the rear. Of the two, the one in the rear is the greatest enemy.....

I see in the future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country.

As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money vampire power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed.

I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of the war."
~ Abraham Lincoln

--

"The government should create, issue and circulate all the currency and credit needed to satisfy the spending power of the government and the buying power of consumers.....

The privilege of creating and issuing money is not only the supreme prerogative of Government, but it is the Government's greatest creative opportunity.

By the adoption of these principles, the long-felt want for a uniform medium will be satisfied. The taxpayers will be saved immense sums of interest, discounts and exchanges.

The financing of all public enterprises, the maintenance of stable government and ordered progress, and the conduct of the Treasury will become matters of practical administration.

The people can and will be furnished with a currency as safe as their own government. Money will cease to be the master and become the servant of humanity.

Democracy will rise superior to the money vampire power."
~ Lincoln Abraham, Senate document 23, Page 91. 1865

I bought the book to kill time with. It was much better than I expected. Similarly I bought World War Z to kill time with and loved it.

Both are being made into movies. I expect both movies will suck. Both could and should be awesome. But they won't.

It looks stupid enough to actually be enjoyable. I'll wait for it to come out on DVD though.
Look at it this way, at least it's not another bad remake of something that we've already seen 1000 times!

I'm interested too in this movie. Well, because of the story too but mainly because of Mary Elizabeth Winstead. She is awesome, isn't she?

My wife was appalled when she saw the review for it last night. She felt that it was basically making a mockery of a great President.

It reminds me of the joke in family guy about Steven King running out of ideas for movies..

The writers were probably surprised to get money to make this film.. laughing all the way to the bank...
