Finally managed to get my nails done with some acrylic ones. I love 'em!

Problem is I now am absolutely petrified of playing my Shergold incase I scratch her.

They hurt my back and draw blood. Regular nails hurt enough. I don't need deeper gashes.

Didn't you puke on your bass? And now you're scared to scratch it?

scratching it would also be an accident. i doubt it would do any more damage than if you where to play with a pick.

One solution to avoid that risk would be to stop playing it. Have you thought about the risk of scratching your keyboard while typing?

I'm a guy. I find long nails unattractive.

If you're making your nails long to keep me happy, you can stop.

I can see why you are concerned about scratching your bass. I've seen Dolly Parton play guitar with long nails so it must able to be accomplished.
