I remember there being a thread about this, but I can't find it anywhere. Can someone suggest a good ad blocker that I can download?

I recommend Ad Muncher. It 's its own program and works with most browsers.

Adblock Plus to counter the gaudy nuisance of advertising.

NoScript to counter the 'WHOAH! ***!!!'

Yeah, but...

NoScript is a bit confusing for most users.

Ghostery kills trackers, which is what you're using NoScript for mainly, and it doesn't confuse non-power-users.

Also get Beef TACO and BetterPrivacy, all transparent in Firefox, while you're at it.
