I just read that Sparky Anderson passed away. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmer.

Sad day in the D, one of the true greats and a true class act. He was one of the few managerial/coaching personalities that transcended the game in any sport, right there with Lombardi, Aurerbach, Bowman, Bear Bryant and Shula. One of the few outspoken men who never said the wrong thing. He will be missed in the D and Cincinnati to I imagine.

He was affectionately known as Captain Hook in Cincinnati. I know he had a big impact in my life as a young kid growing up in Cincinnati. A class act all the way.
