Affordable speaker recommendations?

I'm looking for a nice set of speakers I can run both a computer and my Xbox 360 through, good for music, movies and games. Budget would be ~ $150, I'm guessing. Was considering the Logitech z300 set, but they seem to lack mids. I'm about halfway between casual listener and audiophile-- I listen to a ton of tunes and enjoy good sound, but am not a total stickler on quality. Ultimately, I want something that's a few steps up from average. Thanks in advance!

I meant in regard to my musical interests, not my budget, haha.
