"Conga" is the proper modern American spelling of the cigar-shaped drum popular with Latin American music, but even among Spanish-speaking drummers the word congo is sometimes used- then take into account that across the world, not every player of that style of drum is even associated with Latin music or the Spanish language.

IMHO that "mis-spelling" (which isn't even the case) is nothing compared with the total dyslexic misunderstanding about Squier/Squire, that people are so fond of over here at TB .
