...I just don't get people sometimes. Va. Tech locks down after gunman kills 2 - CBS News
VT is a beautiful campus, great school (several friends are graduates, and my wife did some of her post-grad work there); and the city is just amazing, awesome, one of my favorite places.
WHY does this stuff happen there? 
Sending positive thoughts to the families that have lost someone, and hopefully they will find this nutjob quickly.

Not only does a good friend have a music store just off campus (and still does!), but another friend had TWO of his kids on campus that day.

It was a pretty big deal at the time, I'm surprised you didn't hear about it. I remember everyone at the time claiming they should be able to conceal carry on campus just because of this event.
