Question Airsoft

Sign in to disble this ad
Anybody play airsoft out there?
If you do, could you give some tips on a good gun?

I really don't want to buy crap, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask you guys. I am a paintball veteran, but paintball is getting way too expensive, so that is why I am turning to scenario air soft.

Thanks everybody!

well actually, even good guns break down every few months, its an extremely expensive sport,if i were id just go to the nearest big 5 and buy either the thompson or the smieser, all metal the two with good gear boxes but dont sink thousands into it cuz its really nopt worth it,paintball is an entirely different story(its much better)

Thanks, faust!

Yeah, I've been looking all over the web. It seems a good electronic gun is in the 150 dollar range. Thats ok for me, but of course I wouldn't complain if I could find some cheaper stuff. I'm definately staying away from the plastic actions.

Airsoft attracts me because I don't have to bother with Co2, the guns look and feel realistic, and the ammo is cheap.

I love paintball, but spending 50 bucks a game (all day, 1000rds, and co2) just isn't working for me.

Right now I'm liking this one. It seems to be solid, it is metal and is a single shot bolt action. I know single shots can be limiting, but I'm a conservative shooter.

I like my Tokyo Marui Famas... it's old generation but it's trusty and hasn't failed with just a little tlc.

A Tokyo Marui are regarded as ridiculously reliable, although low power. They're possibly the best starting AEG (stick with an AEG at first, bolt actions are something good to specialise in.

Check out the forums at Arnies Airsoft (http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/) they'll point you in the right direction.

Look at JG/Echo 1 guns, great starters, also airsoftretreat.com has a lot of cool stuff. Don't go bolt action first thing, look at what you like/are good at and then specialize your gun from there.

+1 for jing gong and echo1, but make sure you buy their recent stuff, their old is pretty bad
