All of a sudden, I want to buy magnets.

Sign in to disble this ad
http://unitednuclear.com/magnets.htm

Supermagnets: up to 800 lb. pull.

THESE ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT TOYS AND CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS! KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN!
THESE MAGNETS CAN EASILY CRUSH FINGERS!
WE WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR INJURY OR DAMAGE CAUSED BY THESE POWERFUL MAGNETS.
THESE MAGNETS ARE SOLD TO ADULTS ONLY AND REQUIRE
AN ADULT SIGNATURE UPON DELIVERY.

If you really need unbelievably powerful magnets, here they are.
Uses include magnetic steering of nuclear particles in accelerators, levitation devices, magnetic beam amplifiers, scrap iron separators, etc.

Beware - you must think ahead when moving these magnets.

If carrying one into another room, carefully plan the route you will be taking. Sensitive instruments like computers & monitors will be affected in an entire room. Loose metallic objects and other magnets may become airborne and fly considerable distances - and at great speed - to attach themselves to this magnet.

If you get caught in between the two, you can be severely injured.

These magnets will crush bones in the blink of an eye.

Two of these magnets close together can create an almost unbelievable magnetic field that can be incredibly dangerous.
Of all the unique items we offer for sale, we consider these items the most dangerous of all. Our normal packing & shipping personnel refuse to package these magnets - our engineers have to do it. This is no joke or exaggeration - and we cannot stress it strongly enough. You must be extremely careful - and know what you're doing with these magnets.

Two Supermagnets can very easily get out of control, crush fingers and instantly break ribs or even your arm if opposing poles fly at each other.

A small child recently lost his hand when his father left two # 31 supermagnets unattended. The child picked one up and when he approached the other magnet on a nearby table, it became airborne and obliterated his small hand.

NEVER ALLOW CHILDREN NEAR ANY OF THESE MAGNETS!

If working with multiple Supermagnets, always handle one magnet at a time, secure it, then proceed to the next magnet.

They look like the massive ones they use on myth busters, awesome!

If this company merged with the company that makes nudicals, they could take over the world.

Just put a big one on a stick in front of your bike so that your bike keeps trying to go to the magnet!

(Yeah, I know it won't work... but if it did...)

I worked at a company that did R&D on sterling type engines. I had to machine very high tech and very expensive magnets like those. I also made armatures and other precision components that the magnets were used in. They can be VERY dangerous to work around. I've seen tools stuck to them that couldn't be removed. I also seen them crash into and ruin the machinery that was being used to machine them. You cannot imagine the special care and handling that these things require. Every component we made required a large plexiglass transport case and box with barriers around it.

I really can't imagine any practical us for these unless you were trying to retrieve sunken outboard engines from a lake, or some similar application.

You'll also be safe from:

-Computers
-TV sets
-A functioning wristwatch
-Cell phones

Pretty sweet if you want solitude and quiet.

They are often used for frictionless bearings. When setup in "pole precise placement" around a shaft, they can support thousands of pounds with no actual contact or friction. This allows certain kinds of specialized machinery to run for years without maintenance or lubrication.

I'd rather see a steel/magnetic bobsled course with supermagnetic sleds. It wouldn't be hard to do. Magnets on the bottom and sides of the sled and ZERO friction. Diggler, you can be the test pilot.

I want to like then upside all the way to work so I can get in my car and not have to turn it on. Think of the things I could buy with not having to buy gas.
