For all of those that have to work Christmas day....

At least I got to open gifts and play with my 2 year old all morning and put him down for his nap before I came to work.

I am working 2pm-12am saving the world one VPN user at a time.

I also had the opportunity to make a rum cake for work today. For those following my diet thread I have been strict for over a month and lost 16lbs and I am taking a 24 hour amnesty and eating some goodies, not overdoing it of course.

SO..........I brought a rum cake to work with no less than about 2 cups of rum drizzled on it AFTER it had been fully cooked. It will be a "Merry" Christmas.

My hat comes off to everyone working this Christmas.

I'm not working, but my dad did a 5 hour shift this morning, came home for the afternoon and is now working 4PM-00:00!

When I worked as a CNA in a nursing home, I always requested to work the holidays that others wanted off- Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas.

We got free food and the "atmosphere" was better and more jovial. Some of us made an effort to make sure that the residents were given some extraa bit of cheer and comfort at holiday times when they were most likely to be depressed because their relatives never visit.

Nice. I am working 6AM-4PM, but it is from home today. Some of our clients in Japan, Australia, and the UK are not celebrating this as a holiday, so business must carry on in the financial world.

I got stuck this year. I worked 9pm to 7am last night (Christmas Eve into Christmas morning), and 9pm to 7am tonight (Christmas night). The part that really sucks is that Christmas Eve is not a holiday, so it was plain old straight time last night. At least I'm getting time and a half tonight.

Today, I slept from about 8am until 1 pm, got my kids, did the presents thing, went to my Mom's with the family for dinner, and now here I am, back at work. Blech.
